FAQ

Do you deliver outside Australia?

We deliver Unframed Prints to anywhere in the world. As each framed print is meticulously handmade, we do not take the risk of damage during international shipping, as even a minor defect would detract from the overall piece. Please choose the Unframed Print option of an image if delivery is to be outside of Australia.

Who makes the prints and frames?

Mark Wilson Prints entrusts all printing and framing to Format Framing, our Cremorne neighbours. Format have been producing frames for museums and galleries for over 30 years and all their work is of global industry standard.

What is the quality of the prints and frames?

Each fine art print is produced on 300gsm 100% Cotton Rag stock using the latest Epson P20070 printer with genuine Epson Ultra-Chrome Pro inks.

For framing, the print is dry-mounted to acid-free 5 mm foam board using archival adhesive film. Unframed prints are rolled in acid-free paper and transported in sturdy transport tubes. These are suitable for international deliveries. The paper stock has a very smooth matte finish.

Crystal clear acrylic is used in place of glass in all frames. This shatter-proof 3mm plexiglass is also museum-grade and further protects your work from UV damage and fading over time. It also makes for lower risk of damage in transit and a lighter frame to hang.

Are the prints permanent?

Prints are archival quality and guaranteed not to fade or bleed for up to 100 years.

Are the frames made from real timber?

All mouldings are made from locally-sourced, FSC certified Victorian Ash and Tasmanian Oak. The timber is milled, hand-sanded and painted before the frame is custom made for each print.

How long will delivery take?

Dispatch and delivery in Australia is between 7-14 business days.

**Please note there may be delays due to Covid19**

Why are some image print sizes restricted?

The 1920 images are all reproduced from the original negatives. Although the negs have been well maintained,  film emulsion of 100 years ago did not provide the resolution available today. The negs have been scanned on a top end Imacon scanner and retouched to clean any scratches and dust from the film surface. Maximum enlargement size of some of these images has been restricted to maintain the highest reproduction standard across the Collection.

Light corrugation appears in the sky of some of these images. It is the nature of the original film and its processing, not a printing fault so I have elected to leave it as is.

Please note

You are ordering a customised item which will be handmade to your order specifications. Any return can only be accepted on the grounds that either the frame or print is not as you ordered.
